My Favourite Songs Of The Month - September

Hi guys,

You really don't know how excited I am for today's music post. I have so many songs that I've been obsessed with this month that narrowing it down to 5 has been an actual nightmare.

Anyway, let's just jump straight in - shall we? If you want to listen to any of these songs then just click on the pictures. (Except for the Drake one because that's not available on YouTube yet - soz!).

One Republic - Future Looks Good

No honestly, I was NOT okay when I first heard this song. We all know that One Republic are one of my favourite bands of all time so whenever they release new music I tend to become a little bit obsessed with it and repeat it over and over - which is exactly what I done with this song.

Everything about this song just puts me in a good mood and is a really good song to pick you up and motivate you when you're feeling a bit sh*t! I can for sure imagine taking long winter walks with this playing in my ears and I'm bloody excited about it!

LANY - Pink Skies

Now if there's one song you need to listen to off of this list it's this one!

I fell in love with this song the second I heard it and I haven't been able to get their EP 'Kinda' off repeat this month. If a good love song with a chilled vibe is something you love then this is for sure a song that you need in your life!

I would also suggest giving the whole EP a listen because all the songs on their are incredible!

Drake - Fire & Desire

After being a big lover of Drake's 'Nothing Was The Same' album I just had to have a listen to his newest album 'Views'. While I do like all of the songs on this album 'Fire & Desire' is one that really stuck out to me. It's more of a slow / singing song which I always love from him because I find his voice is super relaxing and calm. For sure one of my favourite songs this month!

The Cadillac Three - The South

I think by now it's absolutely no surprise to you that I like pretty much every single genre of music there is because I always have such a random selection of genre's in these posts but what can I say - I cater for everyone! Haha.

If you don't like country then I would give this one a miss. However, I do love a bit of country every now and again so I am OBSESSED with this song. It's so upbeat and powerful that as soon as it comes on I just want to get up and dance! If you're fond of country then please give this one a listen - you honestly won't regret it!

Calvin Harris - My Way

Oh I do love a good Calvin Harris tune!

I'll be honest I wasn't too fussed of this song at first but after my second time hearing it I blummin' love it now. Not only does it have an amazing beat (obvs) but I do love it when Calvin sings. That's definantly the one thing i've missed about his newer music.

You for sure need to give this one a listen.

What have been your favourite songs this month? Let me know below!

Embracing A Change

Hey guys,

Today I decided to have a little chat with you about some changes that i'm making to my blog and honestly - I'm pretty blumming excited about them!

So, if you regularly read my posts then you will know that I often just discuss whatever I feel like and there's really not many topics that are off limits for me. I've gone in depth about the things I've been through, my mental illness's and I definantly have been writing a lot more posts on serious topics. I love being open, honest and real in my blog but I feel like in doing so many personal posts my blog has become more of a diary rather than something that I have fun with and I feel like I've got lost a little bit in where I fit into the blogging world.

I feel like I'm at a point in my life where I'm trying to find myself and my happiness. I've been doing a lot of things to improve my mental health and just in general the way I think of life the past few months but I feel like I haven't been portraying that through my blog.

I want to start posting about more things that I love such as fashion and beauty because I feel that through them I can have more fun with my posts and just not take life so seriously. This is not to say that my realness will be gone from my blog because it certainly won't - I still want to cover personal and serious topics but just not as much as I have been.

So, from now on I'm going to be introducing more fashion & beauty in to my blog posts and I also want to try and maybe set up a schedule so that I can cover different topics on different days. Like I said before I will still be posting about my life, my favourite songs of the month and trying to help people with their mental health but I do just want to add more fun and character to my blog in a different way.

I hope this wasn't too confusing to read, haha! Let me know if you will like the change or not below - I would really appreciate some feedback on this one!

Autumn Kisses

To celebrate the official second day of autumn I decided it was only right that I wrote a blog post on one of my favourite things about this season - the lipsticks! If you're an autumn lover like me then you know how exciting it is when you pop out a dark lip for the first time so I wanted to share some of my favourites with you so that we can get excited together! Woohoo!

Firstly, I wanted to begin with a dark red. Nothing says autumn / winter to me more than a super deep red.

This is a lipstick that I have had for quite a while. It is by the brand Avon and it is in the shade 'perfect red' which is very fitting. I could imagine this shade to be absoloutley perfect for a winter night out, for a date night or if your anything like me just for the sake of it! It lasts a pretty long time considering it isn't a liquid lipstick and it is super moisturising so you don't have to worry about your lips drying out. Dark reds are one of my favourites to wear so I will for sure be cracking this one out a lot during the cold seasons!

My second choice was this stunning purple shade.

This lipstick is in the shade 'Va Va Violet' by Revlon. I have already worn this in my last blog post which you can see by clicking here. I am an absolute sucker for dark purple and I think that this shade can really complete a snug outfit. Again, this lipstick is super moisturising and for a dark lipstick it isn't patchy on the lips what so ever! Perfect for an autumn night.

My third choice is for those of you who aren't a huge fan of super dark lipsticks.

This is 'Whirl' by Mac and it's honestly one of my all time favourite lipsticks no matter the season. However, this does come off on the lips as a gorgeous brown shade - but not too brown that you'd avoid wearing it if you aren't a dark lip lover! I think this lipstick with a simple make up look could be the perfect statement and is for sure one that lasts on the lips for a very long time. Adore this one!

My fourth pick is another one for those who love a lighter shade in autumn / winter.

This is 'Bow And Arrow' by Kat Von D. Honestly, I must begin by saying that they are super pigmented and not drying at all. I've seen this shade looking darker on other people but for me it comes off as a lovely brown/nude which I think would be perfect for school or work as it isn't too 'out there'. It's definantly a shade I would wear on a day to day basis and would be a perfect autumn nude.

Finally, saving the best till last.

I honestly don't know where to begin with the Jeffree Star velour liquid lipsticks. I ADORE THEM. This is one of the first shades I bought from his collection and I've been obsessed ever since. This lipstick is in the colour 'Androgyny'. If you're looking for a liquid lipstick that literally lasts all day and night without making your lips feel like you've been in the desert for a couple of days then I seriously suggest that you check out these liquid lippies. I could go on all day about why I love these. Androgyny is the perfect autumn mauve shade that makes a statement to any make up look and paired with this maybelline lip liner it is the perfect combination.

What are your favourite autumn lipsticks?

Autumn Fashion

I'm completely ignoring the fact that most of September has been sunny AF and focusing on the fact that this week marks the official start of autumn (22nd of September) EEEEEK.

That being said I think it's absoloutley the right time for some autumn fashion, am I right!? Let's do this!

Autumnal Scarfs

I'm not normally one for wearing scarfs because I have this weird thing about people / things touching my neck (I know i'm strange) but I can never pass up an autumnal scarf as the colours are just too beautiful!

Because of my weird neck shenanigan I like to wear a scarf as a fashion piece rather than something to keep me warm so when I saw this thin one from Next I had to have it! Oh the autumnal feeeeels...

Shoes / boots

For some reason during summer I never opt for a pointy shoe even though I love them I only ever tend to wear them in autumn / winter. I feel like they really add to a plain outfit and also make any outfit look smart.

When I saw this little pointy number in the New Look sale I had to have them - the copper rim around the heel completely sold them to me. I can't wait to wear these to death during these autumn / winter months! Woohoo!

I think we all know that boots are essential for this time of year so i'm not even going to go into detail! I can't remember for the life of me where these are from but they are pretty standard boots that can be found in most places! I loooove them!

Hats / beanies are one of my absolute favourite things to wear during the autumn months. Not only do they keep your head & ears nice and toasty they are also a great outfit statement.

I purchased this hat last autumn and I still plan on wearing it this season too! Love!

Anything Rustic Orange

Oh I could talk all day about my love for rustic orange. I have no idea why but anytime I see this colour during this season I immediately feel super cosy, happy and extremely autumnal. I purchased this jumper last year from Very and it is for sure coming back out of my wardrobe as soon as I see even one leaf falling to the floor, haha!

I could for sure talk all day about my favourite fashion pieces for autumn; be sure to leave a comment below letting me know what some of your favourites are!

Dog Therapy

Hey guys!

Today's post is going to be all about those little 4 legged human / animals that live in your house totally rent free and eat more food than you do. Yes, I'm talking about dogs! *fangirls*

So, first of all I would like to begin by saying that I wasn't always a huge dog lover. I have always loved dogs and animals in general to an extent but never really understood how people become so passionate about them. I remember having a conversation with my boyfriend Karl about his dog Jake (this is before I had my own dog) and I remember him saying he would take a bullet for him. Honestly, at the time I thought this was such an insane thing to say but I can completely say that my view now has changed 100%.

This is me and Jake, he's such a little sweetheart!

I guess before I carry on I should introduce you to my dog, right!?

This is Phoebe my little 10 month old Cavachon and we have had her since she was around 16 weeks old. She is a little a bit crazy (in the best way possible) and I honestly couldn't imagine my life without her.

It's absolutely no secret to the internet that I suffer from anxiety and depression but I truly do believe that Phoebe has helped me through bad times more than humans have, surprisingly! There have been multiple times when I have lied on my bed curled up in a little ball crying my eyes out due to depression just wishing I had the courage to ask someone to help me when this little fluff ball jumps up onto my bed and starts trying to lick away my tears and curling up onto my lap; suddenly I find myself crying with happiness. For once I didn't have to reach out to anyone and ask for help as she was already there. I'm honestly welling up just typing this!

I feel that she has also helped my anxiety more than I can even put into words. I struggle a lot to walk places by myself so before having Phoebe I severely avoided leaving the house unless I was jumping into a car. However, knowing that I have the responsibility of a dog I force myself almost everyday (other days my family members take her out) to take her for a nice long walk and having her by my side makes me feel so much less anxious and on edge; even if she does like to bark at everything! Haha.

I honestly believe that if you do suffer with mental health issues that a dog can be a real help in your recovery but always remember that you have to show them just as much love, too! I would give cats a shout out too but I have never owned one so I'm not sure if they act the same. Do let me know in the comments below if you feel the same about your dog or any other animal you may have as I am always happy to talk about animals, haha!
